Error code 11:00 for Generation 1 Rio Pro

Error code 11 is generally raised if the printer is unable to detect colour panels in the fitted colour dye film. The likeliest cause could be due to two reasons:

1. The printer requires running a "Soak test".

2. One of the internal sensors in the printer has developed a fault.


1. Running a Soak test.

A Soak test is a short test to check one of the internal sensors in the printer is working correctly. (This is the sensor that checks the colour dye film). If this sensor is working correctly, the soak test optimises the sensor to improve it's performance (which usually resolves error code 11:00).

The test itself usually only takes a few seconds and can be run by the end-user. A soak test can be run as follows:

  • Open the printer lid and remove the fitted colour dye film.
  • Close the lid.
  • Remove the rear card hopper.
  • Press and hold the "Menu" button until the maintenance menu is displayed (the "Soak test" option should be displayed in the printer's front panel display (please see images below).
  • Choose the "Soak test" option (this will display the next menu options).
  • Now choose the "Soak printer" option (please see below).

The printer should then reboot and show "Calibrating" on the front panel display. When the test is complete, refit the colour dye film and rear card hopper.

Close the printer lid (and when the printer has re-initialised), try printing a card again.


2. One of the internal sensors in the printer has developed a fault.

If the printer soak test fails, this generally indicates the internal sensor (mentioned above) has failed. if this is the case, the best option would be to contact Magicard Technical Support for further assistance.
