Card Flipper Mechanism Jammed
This error code is only applicable to printers capable of printing double-sided cards in one operation (DUO variant printers).
Occasionally, a card can jam in the flipper unit at the front of the printer. This will prevent the flipper from rotating in order to print both sides of a card. The cause for this could be due to two reasons:
a. Cards sticking in the card guides
Usually resolved by cleaning the printer using one of the long 'T'-shaped Magicard cleaning cards. These cards form part of the Magicard Cleaning kit - available from your Magicard dealer.
A short video showing the correct method for cleaning the printer is available using the link: https://support.magicard.com/solution/cleaning-the-rio-pro-video/
When complete, try re-printing the card.
b. The type of material used to manufacture the cards
If cleaning the printer does not resolve the problem, the cause could be the type of cards being used.
Depending on the type of PVC material used to manufacture the cards, some card types can randomly slip when feeding through the printer. This can lead to the card being incorrectly positioned in the printer's flipper mechanism, causing the jam.
If possible, try printing using a different type of card (or cards from a different manufacturer). In both cases, use cards from a new, sealed pack.
c. Card thickness
Another possibility is the thickness of the cards being used.
Generally, it is recommended that only cards within a thickness 0f 0.50 - 1.27 mm (20 - 50 mil) are used. A card thickness greater than 1.27 mm is likely to jam in the printer.
