Detailed solution for: Faulty Print Motor

Return to error solutions |
Written by Auto Mation,

Generally, although not impossible, printer motors rarely fail.

The cause could be a motor but could also be due to an incorrect power supply being used (rather than the actual supply intended for the printer).

If, for example, a power supply lead intended for a Laptop computer is used, then it's likely that supply will deliver sufficient power to the printer to drive some of the printers' motors. The result is that some of the printer motors may not run correctly and the printer may also print images paler/lighter than normal.

(Error code 26:00 is often reported shortly after an office move where Laptop power leads (having the same fitted industry-standard connector) are mistakenly used instead of the correct printer supply).

If the printer's power lead is ruled out as a likely cause, then it is possible a motor fault could have occurred. In this case, please contact Magicard Technical Support for further assistance.
