This is the latest firmware (system software) for the Magicard Ultima.

Version V1.11 (19.11.2019)

The .PRN file below needs to be downloaded and sent to the printer via the Tools tab within Printer Properties.


Update Procedure

Control Panel > View Devices and Printers.

Windows Control Panel

Right click on the printer icon and select Printer Properties.

  1. Choose the Tools tab -> Print PRN section.
  2. Browse to the downloaded .prn file (from below) and select it.
  3. Click PRINT to send the update to the printer:

The printer will receive the .PRN file and after a short time will display: ‘UPDATING’

 ⚠️ DO NOT POWER THE PRINTER OFF

Once the update is complete the printer will power will reboot itself.

You have successfully updated the printer’s firmware..

You can confirm the version from:  Menu > More > Software info.

In all fairness, as my question was the opposite of what MagiCard would like to achieve I wasn't really expecting a comprehensive answer. Even though I did not get a solution to my question, the answer was well formulated and even offered some alternatives inducing the effect the alternative would have to the print quality.

Customer service were very patient and helpful when communicating with me to figure out the problem with the machine! Thank you for the repair, printer works again! It did take a little longer than expected to get it back, about three weeks instead of two.
