Error Jam Turnover 91
Jam Turnover 91 is seen immediately at power on as the turnover unit is not in home position.
Sometimes after a Card Jam the Turnover Module inside the printer might be in a position which cannot be initialised automatically.
This article will demonstrate correct alignment of the turnover module with emphasis on ensuring the card jam is cleared beforehand.
Power your printer off and allow it cool down.
- Opening the front door and removing the dye film and transfer film will aid cooling and visual location of any card jam.
ℹ️ For guidance on clearing a card jam please refer to the User Guide (linked below), Page 47.
- You may also lift way the card input hopper and then remove the card load slot cover for better access to remove any jammed card/s.
- The jog wheels can be used to rotate the cleaning roller and drive rollers, enabling removal of any cards.
Ensure any jammed cards have been removed before continuing...
Attach one of the jog wheels to the end of the Rotation Shaft (left of the cleaning cassette, adjacent to a black warning label, black plastic shaft)
Gently rotate the jog wheel until the point which has the scored line is horizontal and pointing to the right of the machine (viewed from the front)
The 3 o'clock position → shown below, pointing to the cleaning roller and card input hopper.
This is now in the correct home position.
⚠️ Under no circumstances force the rotation unit!
If you feel resistance then a card is jammed inside.
Continuing to force rotation could break the flipper and become an expensive repair.
Rotating the Jog Wheel connected to the turnover shaft rotates the turnover unit.
It does not turn the rollers to transport a card
When you are confident no cards are jammed inside the printer and the Jog wheel direction is as above, reload the film and card hopper then power the printer back on.
The error should be resolved and the printer will initialise to 'Ready'.
UPDATE
If you also update the printer firmware then the latest version will actually initialise the flipper itself.
